POSITION : Logistic Officer

Description

To organise the safe and efficient distribution of goods, and to ensure that orders are satisfied correctly.
This position is responsible for the transportation of goods into all of our Office facilities

Key Responsibilities

Organizing Shipments.
Coordinating drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys.
Operating IT systems.
Negotiating and agreeing contracts.
Developing and confirming schedules.
Preparing paperwork for regulatory bodies.
Liaising with and managing staff.
Implementing health and safety standards.
Responsible for all Transportation Costs-Direct carrier costs as well as operating budgets for Transportation Department.
Provide cost effective, efficient, and traceable movement of company products outbound.
Manage customer delivery creation, transporting, and tracking for all customers and affiliate orders.
Work with supply planners, customer service and sales for product availability and lead time to ensure on time delivery.
Participate in Customer and Vendor meetings on Supply Chain, Lead time, and Transportation service improvements.
Maintains “Key performance” metrics to effectively manage and optimize transportation spend
Provide analytical support, technical information, and recommendations to all corporate departments as they relate to managing domestic freight requirements.
Allocating and recording resources and movements on the transport planning system.
Directing all transportation activities.
Developing transportation relationships.
Monitoring transport costs.
Negotiating and bargaining transportation prices.
Dealing with the effect of congestion.
Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries.

Qualification & Experience

Degree in Business Administration, Transportation Management, Logistics or Engineering or Supply Chain.
3 years cognate experience
ERP Experience
Proficient in word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint
Problem solving, attention to detail and conflict resolution.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and deal with high pressure situations.
Ability to work in a team environment
AGE: The ideal candidate should not be older than 40 years old
