Handyware is a manufacturer of high quality compounded seasoning ingredients, ﬂavors, etc. for manufacturers of snack food, instant noodles, processed meat, biscuits, cereals and restaurant and home-used seasoning products.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Mechanical Technician
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

Installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment, including granules sachet packaging machine, Cube packaging machine, cube compression machines, other machinery, engines, pumps, conveyor systems, and HVAC units, following blueprints, diagrams, and manufacturer instructions
Perform routine maintenance tasks on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns
Troubleshoot mechanical problems, diagnose issues with machinery or equipment and implement repairs to restore functionality
Calibrate and adjust mechanical systems and instruments to ensure accuracy and precision in operation
Conduct testing and inspections of mechanical systems to identify potential issues or malfunctions
Work collaboratively with technicians, supervisors, and other team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems, develop solutions, and implement improvements to mechanical systems and processes
Properly maintain and care for tools, equipment, and machinery used in mechanical maintenance and repair activities
Stay informed about advancements in mechanical technology, tools, and techniques through ongoing training and professional development opportunities
Pursue additional certifications or credentials to enhance skills and knowledge in the field
Fabrication and construction of metal works through welding, grinding and painting of metal profiles. Interpret engineering diagrams and prepare BEME
Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries
Ensure that all work is conducted in compliance with safety protocols and industry standards
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment specifications
Document findings from inspections, tests, and troubleshooting procedures for reference and reporting purposes

Requirements

Knowledge of mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment
Ability to maintain Air compressors, power generating set, Sachet packaging machines, Cube packaging machine, and tablet/cube Compression machine
Ability to work with electrical systems
Ability to prepare reports using Microsoft office suite
Good team player
Good communication skills
Strong knowledge of metal works such as design, fabrication, and welding (stainless, mild-steel, aluminium)
