Consultant - Technical Assistance

Job Location: Abuja

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Consultant will work closely with key staff of SMILE and Feed the Future Nigeria Livelihoods projects and will report to the Technical Program Director of the SMILE project

OUTPUTS:
A clearly written and concise research proposal that adequately documents sampling and research methodology
Report of the baseline study: well-written and formatted, not more than 100 pages including an e e

Training materials and training report
Database of all study respondents with demographic characteristics and essential information
PowerPoint presentation of research findings and recommendations
Electronic and physical data sets and tools used forthe study
Draft tools for routine monitoring of respondents after the baseline
Brief report of the consultancy focusing on processes involved and challenges experienced

PROFILE OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDER

Advanced University degree (Master Level minimum) in Nutrition, Economics, Public Health or related disciplines. PhD preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant practical field experience In food security and livelihoods
Demonstrated experience in conducting high level research in food security and livelihoods
Familiaritywith community-based and participatory approaches
Fluency in English required with excellent analytical and communication skills in English; fluency in Gbagyi or Hausa is a plus
Deep knowledge of statistical and data analysis packages
