VACANCY: Legal/Administrative Officer

An organization specialized in industrial and commercial security services headquartered in Lagos state is in need of a Legal/Administrative Officer (LAO) who always has the mindset of putting the client's needs first, who insists on continuing to learn every day, who thrives in a highly collaborative work environment and who when presented with a challenge, does not quit until he/she finds a solution.
 
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the LAO will be responsible for 


A. Essential Functions

LEGAL

Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.

Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses.

Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.

Present and summarize cases to judges.

Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.

Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.

ADMINISTRATION

To provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager and ensure that all Administrative matters and files are treated in the strictest confidence at all times.

Responsible for the supervision of vetting of employee data on file to ascertain correctness of personal information supplied.

To perform secretarial functions, including drafting and typing letters, memos and other documents.

Ensure the taking and proper documentation of daily attendance records.

Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.

Any other duty that may be assigned to you by Management.
 

B. Education, Skills and Experience

Minimum educational qualification of a higher national diploma. Educated to Bachelor Degree or MBA level will be an advantage.

Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role.

Autonomous and result orientated, with a clear determination to succeed.

Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Capable of working effectively and productively with senior team members.

Ability to maintain strong ethical and professional values.

Excellent command of written and spoken English.

The ability to operate in diverse cultural environments.

The candidate must be performance driven.

Computer Literacy is a must.
