An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified and proactive Drill Rig Electrician to become part of the team of a renowned mining company that is based in the West African region.

 

Position: Drill Rig Electrician (Maintenance / Repairs)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on Drill Rigs.
  • Ensure availability and reliability of Drill Rigs.
  • Identify Drill Rig Electrical problems.
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are undertaken in accordance to prescribed quality standards.
  • Adhere to company and departmental practices and policies.
  • Prioritize custom alterations to Drill systems.
  • Provide support to Production team to ensure continued achievement of production targets.

Requirements: Qualification(s) and Skill(s)

  • Trade Tested Auto Electrician or Diesel Mechanic.
  • 5 years’ experience in the electrical maintenance of drill rigs in the mining industry.
  • Drilling certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years of drilling experience.
  • Training qualification advantageous (Train the Trainer etc.)
  • Safety qualification advantageous.
  • Previous experience as an expatriate in Africa, providing training and mentoring to a multi-cultural team.

Contractual information:

  • Long term contract.
