Role Definition

• Responsible for the technical inputs and execution to completion within assigned timeframe in any assigned Project while controlling the progress of the project and reporting accordingly.

Position Summary

• We need an Electrical Engineer who can serve as an expert on tasks, delivering them within specified time and defined expectation ; maintaining Project records and documentation such as receipts and control of contract correspondence, customer contact information sheets, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for all projects .

Position Responsibilities

• On a large project the Project Manager may delegate certain project management responsibilities to the Project Engineer, including day-to-day interaction with the Client’s designated representative as well as coordination of all internal activities performed
• Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects, budget monitoring and projects cycle and trends tracking
• Participates in Client/contractor meetings and required to resolve all Client’s engineering and some delegated management project issues.
• Ensure all Projects related to area of expertise are;
• Responsible for the coordination and implementation of all technical activities on the premises of all assigned projects.
• Conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering work; monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and IEL standards
• Responsible to ensure technical accuracy of every specific design details of assigned projects according to documented methods and plans in accordance to the company’s approved Method of project execution
• Built to last with the consideration of the safety, technical, economic and environmental concerns, but also the consideration of aesthetic and social factors Of speedy delivery while coordinating Sites Personnel and other Site Management activities
• Accountable to ensure the avoidance of defects liability on all executed and planned projects by ensuring that all projects works are equally strong enough and stable enough to not deflect or vibrate beyond acceptable limits and to resist all appropriate structural loads (e.g., gravity, wind, snow, rain, seismic (earthquake), earth pressure, temperature, and traffic) in order to prevent or reduce loss of life or injury.
• Ensuring that all arrangements for access, hoardings, protection and safety gears and mountings are in place
• Resolving any unforeseen problems that may cause delays to the project completion
• Maintaining strict quality control procedures and conducting regular inspection & testing of works and materials
• Implements all Weekly and Daily activity plans and actioning them in accordance to the global Project Schedules
• Involved in resource mobilization and Project’s progress reporting together with or in assistance to the Project Managers
• Interacting with Project Manager/Portfolio Project Manager on Project Progress & requirements
• Supervise all Sub – Contractors functions and ensure quality works according to agreed Terms of Reference and IEL standards
• Ensuring all resources are in place before commencement on site and;
• Briefing all Technicians of intended works and potential implications
• Inspecting the material received at site for completeness and damages and ensuring proper storage at site
• Maintaining proper record of works & materials at site

Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge & Skills)

• Membership of appropriate professional bodies is an advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of cognate work experience in Power Sector biased EPC Company.
• Experienced in Power Transmission projects.
• Qualification: B.Sc. / HND in Electrical Engineering.
• Must possess at least a good First Degree in Electrical engineering.
• Experienced in electromechanical construction.

Competence

• Proficiency in MS Office, advance use of MS Excel; willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and f amiliar with ERP Solutions and with competencies in Project Management, CAD and Microsoft Office Suite, Quality focussed with a passion for continuous improvement , highly articulate, confident and persuasive team-builder.
