Position: Operations Manager

Roles and Responsibilities
This job responsibility includes, but is not limited to:

  • Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems and controls
  • Management of budget in coordination with the Executive Director
  • Development of individual programme budgets
  • Payroll management including tabulation of accrued employee benefits
  • Disbursement of cheques for expenses
  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organisation’s mission, specifically support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organisational planning
  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (HR, IT and Finance) through improvement to each function, as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions
  • Play a significant role in long term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence
  • Organisation of fiscal documents and regular meetings with the Executive Director around fiscal planning
  • Develop and manage annual budget
  • Oversee regular assessments and forecasts of the organisation’s financial performance against budget, financial and operational goals
  • Oversee short and long term financial and managerial reporting
  • Managing day-to-day processing of accounts receivable and payable, and producing reports as requested
  • Reconciling monthly activity, generating year-end reports, and fulfilling tax related requirements
  • Assisting the Executive Director in creating annual organisational budgets and monitoring cash flow
  • Contribute to short and long term organisational planning and strategy as a member of the Management Team.
  • Serve as primary liaison in addressing legal issues
  • Oversee organisational insurance policies
  • Manage all organisational functions
  • Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services through improvements to each function (HR, IT, Finance), as well as coordination and communication between functions
  • Drive initiatives in the Management Team and organisationally, that contribute to long term operational excellence
  • Providing consulting services on matters related to business structure and growth
  • Organisational Leadership

  • 5 - 7 years of business management experience across a range of business disciplines
  • Work experience: 5 - 7 years including supervisory and management experiences of about 2 years.
  • Requisite experience in HR frameworks, financial management, marketing and operations
  • Financial reporting capabilities, including budgeting and cash flow management
  • Minimum of B.Sc. from a reputable university in Business Management, Human Resources or any relevant field
