Kimberly Ryan - Our Client, a product of a joint venture between public and private sector companies operating gas pipelines transporting gas across 4 countries in the West African sub region is looking to recruit well qualified, driven and motivated individuals to join their dynamic multicultural work farce to work towards achieving their business objectives.
We are recruiting to fill the position of:
Job Position: Compressor Station Operator
Reports to: Operations Coordinator
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Implementation of Company HES and Security Policies to Ensure Safe Work Environment:
- Act on own initiative to identify and correct work place hazards, unsafe practices, security violations or environmental concerns.
- Perform safety duties such as fire watch and safety monitor.
Operation and Maintenance:
- Work with other team members or contractors in performing equipment start up and shutdown, daily operations and maintenance work processes. May act as a field team liaison with Subject Matter Experts.
- Operate and support the maintenance of assigned pipeline segments and facilities (i.e. monitoring pressures, temperatures and flow rates, and making appropriate operational changes).
- Perform a variety of operating jobs which may include, but not limited to starting up, shutting down and monitoring gas compressor operations, setting and verifying valve and manifold line-ups; gas and diesel driven generators, and gas-fired heaters; receiving/launching pigs; pumping sumps; maintaining and cleaning equipment; changing orifice plates and blinds; meter calibration; and monitoring cathodic protection systems.
- Maintain and assist with minor repairs to pipelines and pipeline equipment including simple mechanical, instrument and electrical repairs.
Key Competencies Required
Knowledge/Skills:
- HND Engineering with minimum of 3 years relevant experience or
- OND/MET/EET Part 3 with minimum of 6 years’ experience, 3 of which should be relevant.
- Demonstrable knowledge of HES.
- Start-up, monitoring and shut-down of rotating equipment such as generators, pumps etc.
- Knowledge in Gas or pipeline operations and turbine compressor operations.
- Have a good knowledge of process parameter monitoring.
- Knowledge in permit-to-work processing and valve alignment.
- Team player who can seamlessly work effectively with other personnel.
- Experience in maintenance and inspection execution and Control room operations
- Strong Communications and Interpersonal Skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft excel, word, PowerPoint and outlook.
- Ability to prioritize conflicting activities
- Initiate, plan own work with minimal supervision.
- Track and handle multiple activities simultaneously.
Job Position: Construction Supervisor
Reports to: Engineering & Maintenance
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Implementation of Company HES & Security Policies to ensure safe work environment:
- Execute and supervise all tasks whilst ensuring safety and protection of people, company assets and the environment.
Construction Coordination and Supervision:
- Develop and execute construction scope of works, CRC proposals, plans and schedules to ensure quality delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Provision of Technical Support:
- Support and provide assistance to Engineering Manager to plan. implement activities, execute annual Construction activities and establish budgets for SMT,
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure the use of recognized integrity assessment models to drive surveillance improvements that will enhance reliability of company structures
Team Role:
- Ensure seamless interfaces with own staff, contractor staff and other company staff in the planning and execution of all construction activities.
Project Management:
- Control the time, cost and quality of construction projects. Plan and coordinate all aspects of the construction process
Key Competencies Required
Knowledge/Skills:
- A Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 7-years post qualification experience in Civil/Structural Engineering and Construction activities.
- Broad Construction experience specifically in the Oil and Gas industry

Job Position: Deputy Manager, Compensation - Headquarters, Accra
Reports to: Human Resources Manager
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiate corporate remuneration policies and develop processes to guide their implementation.
- Conduct Remuneration Surveys and analyze with recommendation for implementation to ensure corporate competitiveness across 4 West African countries.
- Design and administer annual salary program(s) and benefit(s) for each country
- Study country labour laws to ensure Company is compliant with remuneration structures for each country
- Advise and participate in country Collective Agreement negotiations
- Conduct Job Evaluation, Leveling & Pricing for all Jobs
- Develop and monitor Department Annual Budget and Reporting
Key Competencies Required
Knowledge/Skills:
- B.Sc. / BA Administration - Human Resource Management/Industrial Sociology/Psychology/Economic/ Statistics with minimum 8 years hands on relevant experience.
- Professional Certificate in compensation or an advantage.
- Good knowledge of HR practices, principles, labour laws and related regulations and knowledge of compensation issues in both Francophone and Anglophone countries.
- Knowledge of HR policy and process development.
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis and reporting skills
- Knowledge of and practical application in remuneration survey preparation and analysis and compensation analysis.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in the development Performance and Reward Management systems including merit determination practices.
- Skilled in the use of Human Resources Information Management software administration with emphasis on pay roll application.
- Skilful in use of MS Office (Word, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and proficiency in software skills for the creation of spreadsheets and databases

- Very fluent in English (Spoken and Written). FRENCH -added advantage

Job Position: Deputy Manager, Materials Management
Reports to: Finance Controls Manager
Main Duties Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the maintenance of proper inventory levels and the management of inventories across the company.
- Maintain acceptable and accurate inventory levels in all the stores of the organization.
- Communicate with relevant departments and the CP team on inventory levels and locations
- Ensure the warehouse is well organized and managed efficiently.
Record Keeping and Budgeting:
- Prepare annual working capital budgets and participate in the preparation of the company’s business planning process. Maintain a record of all inventory transfers and disposals.
- Implement and follow a controls system to ensure that all critical spares are always readily available and also to reduce damage, breakage, corrosion, and stock obsolescence.
Audit and Reporting:
- Conduct periodic audit of all inventory levels and issue monthly reports on stock items.
- Ensure inventory physical counts are conducted according to company policy and requirements and ensure reconciliation of stock records for a complete and accurate count.
- Ensure all new stock items are properly recorded in the inventory management system.
Supervision and Managerial:
- Mentor, motivate and develop team members to achieve potential.
- Assess performance of team members regularly and develop plan to motivate them to achieve their full potential and performance goals
Key Competencies Required
Knowledge/Skills:
- Degree in Engineering, Accounting or Business Administration. A professional certificate in Operations Management or a Masters’ degree in Operations Management will he a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience, 4 of which should be in the energy industry.
- Knowledge of Accounting, Controls, and Financial systems will also be an advantage.
- Previous experience of Materials Management.
- Experience in managing inventory, including auditing, forecasting and planning.
- Leadership skills of coaching and mentoring. Team player with good communication skills.
- Knowledge of Financial Applications such as SUN and Maximo.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite, inventory/warehouse management and distribution software.

Job Position: Health Environment & Safety Specialist - Accra, Ghana
Reports to: Health Environment & Safety Manager
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Monitor and ensure compliance with the HES Management System:
- Monitor compliance with Safe Operating Procedures developed by Company for assigned locations.
- Participate in HES audits and inspections of WAPCo facilities.
Organizing and Coordinating HES Programs and Activities:
- Coordinate Monthly Safety Meetings at assigned locations.
- Create awareness, provide training and ensure compliance with Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) program in assigned locations.
Monitoring and Reporting HES Performance:
- Track, analyse and report incidents monthly for assigned locations.
- Monitor field compliance with national HES regulations and World Bank Safeguard requirements and provide quarterly reports.
Implement the Emergency Response Program:
- Review Emergency Response plans and recommend improvements and updates.
- Identify and recommend appropriate Emergency Response training for staff.
Key Competencies Required
Knowledge/Skills:
- A degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or a degree in the Sciences, i.e., Physics, Chemistry or Biology with 2 to 3 years experience 2 of which should be relevant or HND with 5 years’ experience, 3 of which should be relevant.
- An advanced degree in MSC in Oil and Gas Management will be an advantage
- Versed in HES metrics and analysis
- Knowledge in Operational Excellence Management Systems (OEMS)
- Knowledge in lifting & Rigging Operations, confined space entry and working at height
- Capable of interpreting Piping & instrumentation Diagrams (P& ID)
- A very sound knowledge of gas pipeline operations
- Versed in Process safety: MOC, Overrides, SCE and Risk Management
- Knowledge in environmental stewardship: EIA, EES and EMP
- Prior work experience in Togo and Ghana (knowledgeable with environment, government agency and culture)

Job Position: Operation & Maintenance Superintendent - Accra, Ghana
Reports to: General Manager - Operations
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Implementation of Company HES and Security Policies to ensure safe work environment
Policy and Procedure:
- Initiate, draft and implement approved operational and maintenance policies.
Operational Excellence:
- Lead and support the development, use, and analysis of system process and results metrics (operational, financial, and safety).
Finance and Resource Planning & Management:
- Develop, obtain approval and maintain 5 year rolling Business plan for Western Area.
Operational reports for Management Decision Making:
- Provide monthly asset integrity reports.
People Management and Organization:
- Supervise, develop and coach team members to ensure the maximization of their potential.
Gas Control Center:
- Oversee all aspects and direct the safe and efficient operation of the Gas Control Center and the pipeline system via the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.
Key Competencies Required
Knowledge/Skills:
- A degree in Gas, Chemical, Electrical/Electronics, Process or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 15 years experience and relevant demonstrated Management and Technical knowledge through experience of minimum of 10 years in pipeline systems and station operations or equivalent related industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience should have been in managerial position.
- Must have strong gas transmission pipeline facility knowledge coupled with experience in all aspects of onshore and offshore natural gas transmission pipeline compression and metering station operations and maintenance
- Excellent Project Management and organisational skills with the ability to influence at all levels for the achievement desired results
- Excellent Leadership skills with proven ability to mentor and develop technical and maintenance competency within the company
- Must have working experience with various cultures in a multi-cultural environment;
- Must be an excellent team player/builder with proven ability of fostering cooperation and collaboration among employees in a unit
- Demonstrable knowledge of HES
- Ability to speak and write French is an added advantage
- Must be able to strengthen the organisation by maximizing people with diverse backgrounds
