Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

Assist the EPC Quality Team Leader in the preparation of Fabrication Yard and Site surveillance plan, especially with relation to Welding and NDE monitoring activities related to the EPC Contractor's scope of work.
Responsible to review and approve the EPC Contractor's QA/QC documentation (including Sub contractors & manufacturers document) with relation to welding and NDE activities, e.g. NDE procedures and qualifications, NDE records (including various techniques reports), Welding traceability documents, welding qualification documents and welding records.

POSITION : AUT Operator

JOB OVERVIEW

Set up, operate and coordinate a specialist team of NDT crew for the Pipeline Production Department, from execution of conceptual design stage to engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning. 

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

Setup, use and maintain the PipeWizard Phased Array AUT system. Instruct Scanner Technicians
Perform NDT services including but not limited to pre-qualification, performance, data interpretation, calibrations, reporting and daily reports.
Maintain the NDT equipment and report the brake down of parts/items to the Supervisor.
Communicate with Welding Foreman on the delivery of required welding quality in a timely manner.
Oversee AUT set-ups for qualification and validation activities.
Provide technical input and quantity estimates for NDT methods, equipment and consumables required for project preparations and production.
Report to Supervisor on the status of preparations, execution, problems foreseen or encountered, and improvements for current or upcoming projects.
Verify that NDT services are performed in accordance with the applicable safety and environmental procedures, rules and regulations as applicable.
Maintain and expand where possible a technical and practical knowledge of (offshore) pipeline NDT- and construction work, including NDT procedures, NDT personnel qualifications, new or modified NDT techniques, as well as a working knowledge of welding techniques.
Identify areas of exposure or improvement within the department or its objectives.
Ensure all AUT equipment is suitable and operational during the project.
Ensure work is performed expeditiously and in accordance with agreed procedures.
Reporting relevant data clearly and accurately and daily electronic back ups are made.
Maintain logs of component changes and repairs to AUT equipment.
Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures, including those of the Client, are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.
Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company. Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
General Assist with any other duties as and when required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Additional qualifications from a professional body are desirable.
Qualified to level 2 on UT, MPI and DPI in accordance with ISO 9712 (additional ToFD and PA qualification is preferred).
Experience with the UTScan or Weldstar AUT systems is an advantage although not essential.
Ideally CSWIP qualified although ASNT and OJT qualifications will be considered.
Experience with Pipewizard.
Trained and examined as an ASNT and/or CSWIP AUT Operator and Interpreter and holding current certification in same.
Affiliation/member with nationally recognized professional body; if applicable
Degree/Qualification in related course or other equivalent experience, plus minimum of 7+ years relevant working experience in Oil & Gas (Construction, Engineering, Offshore sectors etc.) or relevant sectors

POSITION : Arc Welder

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.
Obtains specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun.
Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by Welding Engineer.
Starts power supply to produce electric current.
Strikes arc which generates heat to make and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece.
Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
May manually apply filler rod to supply weld metal.
May clean or degrease weld joint or work piece, using wire brush, portable grinder, or chemical bath.
May repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes. May prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces.
May chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter, using hand scraper or power chipper. May preheat work piece, using hand torch or heating furnace.
May position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixture. May tack assemblies together.
May cut metal plates or structural shapes.
May be designated according to type of equipment used as Welder, Carbon Arc (welding); Welder, Flux-Cored Arc (welding); Welder, Gas-Metal Arc (welding); Welder, Gas-Tungsten Arc (welding); Welder, Hand, Submerged Arc (welding); Welder, Plasma Arc (welding); Welder, Shielded-Metal Arc (welding).
May operate other machine shop equipment to prepare components for welding.
May be designated according to product welded as Welder, Boilermaker (struct. metal). Important variations include types of metals welded, sub processes used, trade name of equipment used, work site (in-plant, job shop, construction site, shipyard), method of application (manual, semiautomatic), high-production or custom, level of ambidexterity required, type of joints welded (seam, spot, butt).
May be required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of governmental agencies or professional and technical associations.
Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties and activities as required.
Performing only those jobs on which they have been trained and/or authorized.

POSITION : Project Operations Manager

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

Execution of construction and fabrication activities to complete the work scope in accordance with the contract and other requirement related to quality, safety, health, environment and security.
Promoting of and adherence to company policy and company management system (CMS).
Reviewing adequate implementation of CMS.
Managing the construction crew and project activities in the best way with respect to the company interests.
Communication and co-operation within construction crew, between construction crew and other disciplines and between construction crew and client representatives.
Reporting daily progress on offshore operations vie daily progress report reporting.
Reporting non-conforming occurrences.
Stimulating crew to report non-conformity, accidents, near-misses, hazardous situations when observed.
Control of documentation related construction and fabrication activities.
Communication with barge master about marine and construction activities.
Liaising with project manager about project matters.
Liaising with site construction manager during joint onshore/offshore operations.
Representing the company.
Familiarization of all personnel with the project and individual task.
Effective use of the PTW system.
