Leading the program emergency team in Borno State, Nigeria.

Key activities in your role will include

Ensure that the startup / scale up of the WASH and FSL response is well coordinated and timely and qualitatively implemented. Ensure that logistic, security and administrative ACF procedures are in place in the new project locations in the shortest possible delay.
Ensure that program implementation is coordinated with other humanitarian actors, operating in the same geographic location (Protection, Gender, WASH, FSL)
In collaboration with the Technical Coordination team, analyze of the broad humanitarian emergency trends by attending regular coordination meetings at national level, field assessments, and secondary data from other sources.
Serve as a point of contact for all ACF emergency programs in Nigeria and build collaborative relationships with UN agencies, INGOs and relevant Government agencies who are active in Nigeria’s emergency response.
He/she provides the coordination team with up-to-date emergency humanitarian information and possible scenario analysis and contingency planning.
In collaboration with the Coordination team, identifies humanitarian needs, provides relevant future trends for geographic and sector positioning throughout the country in a timely fashion.
Manage the emergency team fostering professional development and team building through regular meetings and effective HR management

Requirements
You’re a seasoned Emergency Project Manger:

You have a university degree in International Development, Public Health, International Humanitarian Assistance, or any food security, agriculture, social science.
You have at least 3 years’ experience managing programs in acute humanitarian emergencies.

You are passionate about finding effective solutions :

You encourage your team to deliver life-saving activities, supporting them while they work in difficult conditions. You help teams manage difficult situations & then work with them so their energies remain focused on delivering those quality activities which will most impact our beneficiaries.
Your experience allows you to remain are calm & articulate under pressure. You are a strong advocate for improving the humanitarian assistance to those most in need, able to represent ACF appropriately with a range of national counterparts.

Your work style encourages trust & resilience within the emergency team:

You intuitively adapt your communication style to suit colleagues from other cultures & professions.
You monitor the impact that the demanding activities & stressful security conditions may have on the emergency teams, actively working with Country Director & HR team to ensure that staff are appropriately supported.
You keep the emergency teams updated with new developments in Nigeria, taking time to explain & explore with them the possible consequences of different situations.
