Our client is one of the world’s largest provider of in-flight services. These include catering, onboard retail, in-flight equipment and logistics, consulting and lounge services. The company’s extensive know-how in culinary excellence and logistics has led to its successful entry in adjacent markets, such as train services and retail. The group achieved consolidated revenues of 3 billion Euros in 2015. They now have an opening for Head of Finance for Nigeria Hub to be based in Lagos.
POSITION : Head of Finance - Nigeria Hub
Role Profile
The Head of Finance reports directly to the General Manager of the new facility in Lagos, which will open in October 2016, and will be part of the local Management Team. He / she will be responsible for the set-up of the new Finance Team and definition of all Finance responsibilities and processes.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Implement the regional strategy in the new Nigeria office
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, the Corporate and Regional guidelines and policies; develop the Nigeria office’s specific procedures based on it
Identify potential business risks and ensure corrective actions are taken
Prepare the annual business plan / budget and the annual financial reporting
Prepare the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements/ reports of the Nigeria office in line with internal and external requirements within the set time frames
Prepare the monthly forecast in line with defined processes
Generate reports and forward the results to management and Regional Finance and Controlling; generate reports and information based on ad-hoc request
Support managers in monitoring the achievement of financial objectives; initiate corrective actions if necessary in cooperation with managers
Ensure all tax activities are carried out and tax liabilities are optimized
Ensure an efficient and effective cash and treasury management for the Nigeria office
Ensure the data quality and integrity of data in the financial reporting system
Implement effective internal control processes in the Nigeria office; ensure compliance with them in area of responsibility
Prepare and deliver financial studies, projections, analyses and feasibility studies in order to enable the management to take business decisions incl. capital expenditures
Develop specific KPIs in co-operation with the managers
Ensure the efficient communication and co-operation within the Finance and Controlling network and with internal business partners
Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed
Guide, motivate and develop the direct and indirect (functional) reports
Plan, implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility, initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
Key Requirements
Graduate level with economic focus or equivalent experience
Must have experience in starting a Finance unit within a Start up
Minimum of 5 years’ business experience in Finance and Controlling within Hospitality or FMCG
Minimum 3 years Managerial experience
Knowledge of local accounting principles and regulations
Know how in controlling and in management information systems
Good understanding of the organization, products, technological and competitive environment
Business acumen
Analytical, presentation and communication skills, customer orientation
Fluent in English and preferably in local language
