POSITION : Business Planner

Job Summary

  • To support the financial planning unit in business planning, decision support, project and corporate financing functions, financial strategy and other ad-hoc services.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare business plans, financial and data models for management decision and support and act as a go-to person for support on new products, initiatives and business leads
  • Perform analysis of core economic and business variables for management reporting purposes
  • Generate new business leads and perform business cases/valuation on new projects
  • Initiate covered industry or project specific reports for management consumption
  • Support the Financial Planning team to manage the financial planning processes, which includes, business planning, budgeting and budget control among others
  • Assist in developing tools for analysis and tracking of financial performance of various strategic initiatives
  • Inter department collaboration on forecasting activities, business models, or business plans
  • Assist the Financial Planning team to prepare the quarterly forecast, annual Budget annual 5year business plan and other strategic plans of the company.
  • Provide support when necessary to project/product teams in respect of financial modelling and reporting function.

Competencies:

  • Significant experience in investment banking, research or corporate finance.
  • Specific skills in valuation, financial modelling and analysis.
  • Ability to manipulate and deal with complex data is an added advantage.
  • Ability to influence senior management and build business cases
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.
  • Good communicator with ability to make presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Business acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Strong leadership skills and a team player  

Educational Qualification

  • First degree in Economics, Business Administration or other Finance or Mathematics related courses is required.
  • MBA, CFA or any relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in related field.
