Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is an International non-governmental organization supporting relief and development work in over 99 countries around the world. CRS programs assist persons on the basis of need, regardless of creed, ethnicity or nationality, CRS works through local church and non-church partners to implement its programs, therefore, strengthening and building the capacity of these partner organizations is fundamental to programs in every country in which CRS operates. CRS re-established presence in Nigeria in 2000 and currently focuses on agriculture, health and emergency programming. CRS is expanding its activities in the North-East in the area of Food Security, Nutrition, Non Food Items, Water and Sanitation.

POSITION : Database / MEAL Officer

Job Summary

The Database/MEAL Officer will support the MEAL Manager focusing on data collection and management related to the emergency project.
It is expected that the majority of his/her time will be allocated to tracking project indictors, the progress of PEPFAR OVC IP, State and Network sustainability plans and s/he will support assessments and operations research activities as needed.
The Database/MEAL Officer will be responsible for developing forms, databases, manage data encoding and maintaining the database accessible to an analysis of the project.

Qualifications

University degree in Computer Management, Monitoring & Evaluation or related field.
At least 3-4 years of work experience in database management and/or MEAL, preferably with international NGOs.
Excellent knowledge of database management systems MS Access, SQL Server and Excel Spreadsheets.
Good knowledge of statistical analysis software such as SPSS and / or STATA
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies/applications/computer programs quickly (e.g., iFormbuilder. ArcGIS)
Demonstrated ability to train data collectors and ensure high quality data.
Strong analytical skills.
