Job Title: Restaurant Manager 

Job Description

  • Ensuring customers are greeted and provide excellent customer service;
  • Cascading required strategic management information to lowest team-member;
  • Maintaining awareness of current advertisements and promotions;
  • Accepting payments and providing accurate change;
  • Keeping checkout area neat and supplies stocked;
  • Be accountable for work timing of team members and performing other tasks as assigned.

 

POSITION : Head Chef

Job Descriptions

  • The job description of a head chef requires candidates who can delegate tasks effectively, as well as solve problems and address issues efficiently in a fast paced, high stress environment.
  • Candidates for this position must be knowledgeable in food preparation and cooking tasks.

Essential Duties

  • Head chefs direct and facilitate the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of all food stuffs for a restaurant or any other food-serving facility;
  • Plans, prices, and executes the menu; and otherwise oversees the operation of the kitchen.

Resposibilities

  • Develops menus.
  • Develops recipes and standard techniques for food preparation in order to ensure food consistency and quality.
  • Remains up to date on new techniques and trends in dining to ensure currency in kitchen food preparation standards.
  • Delegates tasks to chefs, cooks, and other personnel to ensure the economical and technically correct preparation of all food items.
  • Tracks kitchen expenses.
  • Coordinates with food service manager to create and monitor the budget.
  • Prepares or directly monitors the preparation of technically difficult dishes.
  • Supervises preparation to minimize wastage.
  • Assesses operation to ensure all rules and regulations for health, sanitation, and safety are followed.
  • Develops training for food preparation personnel in order to safeguard against kitchen accidents.
  • Provides on-the-job and professional development training for food preparation personnel.
  • Keeps up to date with local, seasonal ingredients and plans menus around them.
  • Works to help market the business with the creation of ‘specials’ and unique dishes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively and positively in order to manage a crew of kitchen staff.
  • Is able to produce large amounts of food effectively and in a short period of time.
  • Has organizational skills and the ability to develop and follow schedules for the entire kitchen crew.
  • Is knowledgeable on food production and food service managing.
  • Has well developed interpersonal skills for negotiating with co-workers and restaurant owners as well as for handling customers
  • Extensive professional culinary experience is required, which can be obtained through internship programs and apprenticeships.
  • Strong knowledge of administration, management, and human resources is also necessary.

POSITION : Head Baker 

Job Description

  • The job of a Baker involves making breads, pastries, cakes and other types of baked goods.

Essentail Duties

  • Provide training to staff in baking activities
  • Meet the requirements of clients/customers.
  • Ensure product freshness and food safety.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake foods
  • Prepare and make all bakery items for a large number of customers
  • Inspect and ensure proper colour combination for all baked items
  • Ensure proper storage of all items in refrigerators and freezers.
  • Assist and support senior chef and other bakers
  • Retain existing customer-base through preparation and serving of tasty items

Minimum Requirements

  • A successful candidate must possess baking experience.
  • Incumbent may require a Degree in culinary or short courses in pie Making, Cake Decoration, Bread Baking or any similar field. Experience is generally obtained through hands-on training. Pastry chefs, on the other hand, must obtain classroom training, teaching experience and several years of baking experience in a relevant setting.
  • Skills Knowledge in a wide range of ingredients, baking equipment and techniques, good planning and budgeting skills, and extensive knowledge in precautionary measures for possible health hazards.
  • He/she must also patient, detail-oriented, creative, organized and be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Bakers must also work effectively under pressure, under conditions of high temperatures and long hours standing.
  • Specific work elements Preparing ingredients for biscuits, cakes, breads, rolls, muffins, pies and other baked goods based on recipes; mixing quality ingredients to form dough and batter; using baking equipment properly; adjusting oven settings; and supervising bakery staff, among others.

  • The Cashier/Head Cashier has the primary responsibility of handling customer purchasing and payments while facilitating a good interaction/relationship with the customer.
  • He is entrusted with the key responsibilities of complementing the customer shopping experience by evaluating the customer’s purchases, handling the customers’ payments for goods and services-while making the process as enjoyable and least stressful as possible.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum qualification of O’Level or Senior School certificate (SSCE) or equivalent. Maximum of an OND.
  • Must be customer-centric, while relevant experience as a cashier is an added advantage.
  • Candidates must possess basic application of mathematics and be trained in handling computerized or electronic cash registers, scanners and other equipment. Since his/her work usually involves money, cashiers must also have a clean criminal record.

 

POSITION : Supervisor Cashier 

Responsibilities

  • The Cashier/Head Cashier has the primary responsibility of handling customer purchasing and payments while facilitating a good interaction/relationship with the customer.
  • He is entrusted with the key responsibilities of complementing the customer shopping experience by evaluating the customer’s purchases, handling the customers’ payments for goods and services-while making the process as enjoyable and least stressful as possible.

POSITION : Checkout Manager

Job Description
Job Purpose:

  • Champions Company and Department’s customer service and ensures that all customers receive fast, friendly, accurate checkout service by passionately implementing the spirit of customer service as a code of conduct in the department.
  • Responsible for leading the successful operation of the Checkout department. The CM is responsible for creating a team environment throughout Checkout department where cashiers are trained and developed to ensuring Customers receive consistently superior Customer Service.
  • Ensure strict compliance with work ethics and standard operating procedures for customer engagement to ensure no an enjoyable customers’ end of shopping experience.

Qualification

  • Minimum qualification of OND, previous experience in a similar position is an added advantage.

 

POSITION : Purchasing and Administrative Officer 

Job Purpose

  • To help design, install and manage a timely and cost effective preventive management system/process/policy, while ensuring quality and professional in line with international standard best practise.
  • Ensure timely and cost effective resolution of administrative issues.

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess supermarket administrative experience with a minimum of 2-3years experience in a similar position.
  • Must possess a minimum of OND.

 

POSITION : Recruitment Officer

Responsibilities

  • The Recruitment Officer will be responsible for analyzing the requirements of a job, attracting employees to that job, screening and selecting applicants, hiring, and integrating the new employee to the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of OND.
  • minimum of 2 years in a similar role is compulsory. Strong knowledge of the retail sales environment.

 

POSITION : Department Chef - Fresh (Fish, Butchery, Fruit and Vegetables)

Job Description
Job Purpose:

  • To provide a wide variety dairy and frozen products to the satisfaction of customers; and with aim of giving an unparalleled product experience.
  • To help drive the business in the department by ensuring the availability of all range of product both in prescribed quality and quantity.
  • To arrange/display various types of dairy, deli and frozen items in a neat, attractive and eye-catching manner to appeal to the customers.

 

POSITION : Supervisor - Wine and Spirits

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess relevant supermarket experience with a minimum of 2-3years experience in a similar position.
  • SSCE/OND.
  • Candidate that do not meet this criteria need not apply.

 

POSITION : Store Admin Officer

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess supermarket administrative and facilities management experience with a minimum of 2-3years experience in a similar position.
