Plans and directs the day-to-day transportation functions, including the work assignments of drivers and supervisors to ensure that department standards for safety, accuracy, and timeliness are met or exceeded
Training new and existing employees and recruiting.
This position will collect, mine, and analyze trends in lane data to identify issues and implement changes to improve current logistics processes and optimize service, as well as, provide input into the development, implementation and execution of processes to control labor.
Oversee implementation of new operating methodologies that optimize putting customers first.
Ability to also analyze the operations data to develop and recommend strategies to improve business.
Build and grow client relationships through constant contact and advocacy by offering advice and solutions.
Advises employees on care of goods received, stored, and shipped; proper use of equipment; and related problems.
Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.
Requirements
1-2 Years of work experience in Transportation Industry
Must be available to work weekends & evenings
Experience working in a fast-paced environment is strongly preferred
Skills Possess strong written oral and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical, negotiation and presentation skills
Must have experience with Microsoft Office Able to promptly manage daily phone & email load
Able to problem solve Team Player.
