POSITION : Manager, Core Products (Data) 

Requirements

  • A degree or post-graduate diploma in any related discipline.
  • Training and certification in Project Management is desirable
  •  6 years work experience of which includes:
  • 3 years in Product Development and Management experience in a Telecommunications-related environment
  • 2 years’ experience in advanced Project Management
  • Experience in co-coordinating a number of external agencies and suppliers
  • Experience in dealing with senior stakeholders within an established organization

Responsibilities   

  • Translate customer insights into innovative concepts that achieve business objectives while providing value to customers.
  • Network and build solid relationships with internal units and relevant third parties (e.g. strategic investors, technical and finance partners, business consultants etc.) and develop a close working relationship with relevant information sources to provide an integrated service.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external suppliers.
  • Balance and negotiate stakeholder requirements
  • Support all business units with regards to product development and support
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers, Market Segment managers, Pricing, Research, Sales and Customer Operations to take data and device products from concept through internal approvals, development, quality assurance, testing, training, regulatory support, and launch.
  • Integrate product development requirement with technical capacity such network elements, charging and billing platforms, and devices

  • Champion new data and device service concepts, as well as existing key products and services across the organization

  • Ensure market managers and the rest of the organization are aligned with the evolution of the data and decvice services roadmap
  • Drive product and service delivery across the organisation in the medium to long term by agreeing and setting goals cross functionally
  • Full integration of quality management processes and their effective deployment on a day-to-day basis.
  • Use relevant metrics and measures to routinely monitor progress against targets and take appropriate managerial action to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Provide performance data to support management decision-making.
  • Develop and introduce new, market-leading and/or enhanced data services in conjunction with 3rd parties where necessary.
  • Position MTN Nigeria at the forefront of technological innovation within the telecom’s sector, through the development and support data services that will attract and retain customers, grow ARPU and create new revenue streams.
  • Support the Shareholder return strategy by developing and implementing Marketing processes that are aligned to achieving all elements on the business score card. (I.e. Grow Market Share, Grow ICT & Data Revenue, Increase EBITDA margins, Assure Revenue, CAPEX Returns Management and Net Subscriber Additions).
  • Participate in the review of Business Processes (headcount, process optimization, etc.), to drive efficiency gains to ensure at least 5% reduction in Divisional budget year-on-year.
  • Serve the Division’s internal customers and provide solutions to improve the customer experience.
  • Strategic Partnerships with MTNN leadership team to drive awareness on expected behaviours and impact on non-compliance on bottom line results and company image/reputation.
  • Drive planned strategy for the successful delivery of MTN Group and MTNN transformation initiatives focusing on Customer centricity, including Perfect 10 Project.
  • Drive an increase in MTNN’s Net Promoter Score.
  • Stay abreast of technology waves and customer insights related to data and device offers.
  • Continuously seek self-professional development to sharpen skills and capabilities in a versatile and evolving digital landscape.
  • Coach and train the team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of set targets/requirements and regularly review their training needs.
  • Review performance of individual team members and complete appraisals in accordance with the employee performance appraisal procedures and time schedules.
  • Identify training requirements of team members, develop program to address knowledge gaps and to enrich knowledge repository within the department
