Our client is one of the largest producers of dairy products in the world, with respect to milk production volume and turnover. They currently have a vacancy for a Finance Manager at their Sub-Saharan Africa regional office in Lagos.
Job Summary
The finance Manager is saddled with the responsibility of overseeing and providing guidance to accountants in subsidiary market as well as running accounting and tax for the regional office. The Finance Manager Reports to The Regional Financial Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Closing and consolidation of accounts, carrying out provisions and accruals
- Payroll questions and handling of monthly salaries
- Assist Regional Finance Manager with business controlling tasks. These include:
- Consolidating financial forecast
- Support with business case
- Ad hoc analysis
- Prepare documentation, reporting and analyses for tax, statutory and internal audit. Assist with resolution of tax, statutory and internal audits.
- Cash flow management and budgeting
- Risk and compliance questions
- Credit control and working capital
- Banking payments and petty cash. Management of vendor invoices.
- Account reconciliations
Key Competencies
Functional competencies:
- A profound theoretical understanding of accounting models and tools combined with a strong in-depth knowledge and understanding of accounting principles.
- Knowledge in leading ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Sound knowledge of Nigerian Tax Law
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

- Develop strong relationships with colleagues in the organization, e.g. global accounting and tax teams and the global shared service center located in Europe.
- Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organizations as needed.
- Independently work and with a continuous improvement mindset to establish relevant processes and procedures as well as ensure existing processes and accounting principles are applied consistently.
- Identify control weaknesses, communication to management and propose improvements to tighten and enhance controls and mitigate risk.
Key Requirements
- Relevant academic background (B.Sc or M.Sc degree) supported with a professional accounting certification.
- 3-5 years’ experience in senior level finance or accounting roles.
- Experience from a FMCG is a prerequisite.
- Fluency in English required. French is seen as an advantage
