We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Project Officer / Architect
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Manage design projects from concept development through to completion, preparing drawings, blueprints, specifications and construction documents
- Supervise and project manage site works and activities
- Manage Artisan, masons and as well as other subcontractors
- Manage procurement of materials, cost analysis and bill of quantity
- Compile feasibility reports, determine environmental impact, create project proposals, estimate costs, determine timelines and oversee construction processes.
- Assist in designing and implementing business plans and strategies to promote the attainment of set goals
- Work with other members to coordinate preliminary architectural studies for major new structures and alterations to existing structures and site development
- Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions, working with teams across business lines
- Liaise with clients, contractors, engineers to ensure that aspects such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), as well as structural supports are properly incorporated into the designed structures.
- Comply with safety standards and local planning regulation and gain permit for all construction projects
- Manage and provide support by matching and setting up agreements between clients and contractors
- Handle documentations as it concerns projects
- Manage the day to day activities on sites.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements and skills
- Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc Degree (Second class Upper division) in Engineering, Building Science or relevant field with at least 4 years relevant work experience.
- Proven experience as construction project Officer
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Familiarity with construction/ project management software
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player with leadership abilities
- PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage as construction project manager.
