Description
- The company is seeking an experienced Fleet Officer, based in Abeokuta, Nigeria to join the company in this exciting phase of its growth to build the first of its kind fruit processing company in Nigeria.
Job Summary
- The Fleet Officer will be responsible for assisting in administering Fleet & Logistics management activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the unit to ensure that the administrative documents for all vehicles are available, filed and monitored.
- Ensure follow up with payments and approvals needed for carrying out repairs, maintenance and sundries.
- Assist the Senior Fleet and Logistics officer to circulate the scheduled information of vehicle movements to drivers and company executives.
- Collation of reports (daily mileage log, incident report, fuel purchase & preventive maintenance reports) and document to appropriate quarters.
- Coordinate daily pre-inspection trips with drivers and submit reports to senior fleet officers.
- Assist senior logistics officer with regional coordination of products deliveries
- Re-sensitization of safety guidelines and standards to drivers periodically.
- Manage agendas/travel arrangements for employees
- Provide support and assistant in documentation of all freight forwarding operations
- Provide assistance and support during land, air and sea operations or shipments
- Maintain data and update records of all vehicles
- Assist the Senior Fleet & Logistics officer with Driver management processes and activities
- Provide assistance and coordinate the work of vendors/contractors during vehicle repair and management
- Coordinate daily fueling of company vehicles
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures affecting company fleet & logistics.
- Assist in companywide fleet asset management
- Create and submit periodic reports on maintenance, repairs and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
Educational Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, HND or OND in any related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of principles and techniques employed in effective fleet management operations
- Excellent verbal, written communication & presentation skills.
- An open, flexible and innovative working style.
- Must be able to work under tight schedules and manage time efficiently.
- Good organization, time management and scheduling skills
- Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude
- Ability to multitask
- Proactive with a forward-thinking attitude
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to supervise drivers and vendors
- Attention to detail.
