We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Registrar

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Overall Function

  • The Registrar will oversee Miva’s academic operations by efficiently managing the maintenance and integrity of all students’ academic records, approved curriculum, creation and maintenance of course schedules, all areas of student registration and student grades collation, compliance with National
  • Universities Commission (NUC) regulations, and the establishment and maintenance of processes for reasonable and reliable administration of policies and procedures as they relate to registration and academic record keeping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the annual budget of the Registrar’s office.
  • Direct the daily operations of the Registrar's Office; provide supervision, oversee implementation and review of academic policies.
  • Supervise the registration of continuing and incoming undergraduate students and degree evaluations.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records of current and former students and facilitate effective student registration process.
  • Partner with the Admissions and Academics team to facilitate an efficient and timely process to register newly accepted students.
  • Manage efficient transcript evaluation and processing.
  • Develop and maintain a degree audit system and certification of students for graduation/graduation clearance.
  • Maintain up-to-date course schedules, catalogs, final examination schedules.
  • Stay current on operational and reporting trends, regulations, and technology solutions for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Registrar's office.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate curriculum management system.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures; student registration, records, class schedules, identification cards, and graduation requirements.
  • Maintain and upgrade MIVA's academic information infrastructures including academic records archives, student database, other electronic databases and information systems.
  • Represent MIVA at external engagements and engage with governmental agencies, vendors, students and/or the general public

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's Degree in a relevant course of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in tertiary education administration, including enrollment management, records management, registration, and student information systems.
  • Excellent research, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with student information systems; development of reports, plans and budgets, and regulations related to student records.
  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
  • Knowledge of the rules, regulations, and best practices regarding student records.
  • Database management skills.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Ability to provide technical advice and information.
  • Ability to analyze course prerequisites, certification, and/or curriculum/graduation requirements.
  • Knowledge of student registration and academic requirements.
  • Employee development and performance management skills.
  • Knowledge of database construction, management, and retrieval methods.
  • Knowledge of records retention and/or destruction policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of faculty and/or staff hiring procedures.
