Job Description
- Music Instruction: Provide music lessons to students, either individually or in groups, based on the school's curriculum and syllabus. This may involve teaching students how to play musical instruments, sing, read sheet music, and understand music theory.
- Lesson Planning: Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the school's music education goals and cater to the age and skill level of the students.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment in the music classroom. Ensure that students are attentive, disciplined, and respectful during lessons.
- Instrument Maintenance: If applicable, oversee the care and maintenance of musical instruments used in the classroom, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Assessments and Grading: Evaluate students' musical abilities and progress through assessments, tests, and assignments. Provide feedback to students and parents regarding their performance and areas for improvement.
- Extracurricular Activities: Encourage and support students' participation in music-related extracurricular activities, such as school bands, choirs, or musical performances.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work with other music tutors or teachers to coordinate music-related activities, school concerts, or performances.
- Individualized Support: Identify students who may need additional support or challenges in their music learning and provide personalized attention to help them progress.
- Integration of Technology: Utilize technology and digital resources to enhance music education and create interactive and engaging learning experiences.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of current trends and developments in music education, attending workshops or professional development opportunities to improve teaching techniques and methodologies.
- Support School Events: Contribute to the school's music-related events, such as concerts, recitals, and competitions, by helping with organization and preparation.
- Parent Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians regarding students' progress and any concerns related to their music education.
- Follow School Policies: Adhere to the school's policies and guidelines related to teaching, student behavior, and overall school procedures
Educational Qualification and Experience
- Candidates should possess an NCE / B.Ed and any other relevant qualification
- A minimum of 4 years teaching experience is required
