SIMS Nigeria Limited specializes in the assembly, distribution and sales of consumer electronics from major brands such as - Samsung, Panasonic, Royal, Skyworth, Electrolux, Bosch, Philips and Powermatic. Our business started out in 1987 and since then we have grown to be a market leader in the home appliances & consumer electronics market in Nigeria. We operate a number of branches that cut across most of Nigeria’s geopolitical zones in major cities such as Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Abuja, Onitsha, Enugu, Uyo and Kano.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: IT Officer

Location: Lagos

Reports to: Head, IT

Job Summary

The IT Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth and secure operation of IT systems.
The role involves providing technical support, , and implementing technology solutions to enhance business operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including hardware, software, and all configurations.
Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
Monitor network performance to ensure availability and reliability.
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
Provide technical support for end-users, resolving hardware and software issues.
Respond to IT support tickets promptly and efficiently.
Train staff on the use of IT resources and systems.
Maintain an updated inventory of all IT equipment and software licenses.
Implement and manage security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks, and data.
Monitor security systems to detect and respond to threats.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the planning and implementation of IT projects.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed.
Ensure regular maintenance of systems and infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in IT support or network administration.
Strong understanding of IT systems, networks, and security protocols.
Proficient in Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
