Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with a strong focus on .NET development and expertise in Point of Sale (POS) integrations and card processing.
As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend systems that power our business and merchant solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of .NET technologies, POS integrations, and card processing to ensure seamless and secure transactions for our clients.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of backend systems for our business and merchant solutions using .NET technologies.
Develop and maintain APIs and microservices to facilitate smooth communication between frontend applications and backend systems.
Collaborate with POS vendors to integrate and optimize point-of-sale solutions.
Implement and maintain POS integrations for switching and processing, ensuring compatibility with a variety of hardware and software configurations.
Utilize deep knowledge of card processing to design and implement secure and efficient payment processing systems.
Implement and maintain interfaces with card networks and payment gateways to enable seamless transactions.
Architect scalable and high-performance backend solutions to handle the dynamic and transaction-heavy nature of business/merchant applications.
Optimize code and infrastructure to ensure low-latency responses for critical transactions.
Implement security best practices to protect sensitive financial data.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to payment processing.
Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of backend systems.
Maintain thorough documentation of APIs, integrations, and system architecture.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. (Must have completed NYSC)
Proven experience (4+ years) in backend development using .NET technologies.
Expertise in POS integrations, including experience working with POS vendors and hardware.
Strong background in card processing and payment gateways.
Experience with scalable and high-availability backend systems.
Knowledge of security principles and best practices in financial applications.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
