POSITION : Local Procurement Specialist
Job Description
The position holder will be responsible for strategic procurement activities and order management.
S/he will be responsible for overseeing and managing of the programmes procurement activities and provide guidance on procurement procedures and compliance.
Responsibilities
Review planned orders, create requisitions for items to be purchased, and manage approval process
Support the management of all high valued procurements; national/international tenders, to ensure a timely turn-a-round time
Monitor progress of all orders, particularly following up on orders awaiting approvals to avoid any delay in the system
Ensure that all suppliers related information file is complete, up-to-date, and renewed annually
Organize regular local market surveys and ensure the Vendor Roster and other supplier information is kept up-to-date and referenced during the procurement process
Maintain costing data to enable budget holders have easy access to prices for budget formulation;
Improve systems and procedures for procurement as directed by the Procurement Coordinator
Ensure that all comments on delay’s in procurement, special procurement requirements, or other relevant information are updated daily
Correspond with relevant staff on orders awaiting approvals to avoid any delay’ in delivery of supplies or completion of services
Ensure payment paperwork attached to procurement files are complete, correct and have the relevant signatures before being submitted to the finance department for payment
Liaise with the finance staff to ensure relevant payment request forms are raised promptly after delivery of supplies or completion of services
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Strong knowledge of the procurement practice in Nigeria
Proven ability t develop staff and provide training on systems and procedures
Committed team player and ability to work within a multi-cultural team.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft packages, including Excel, rd, and Outlook
Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload in a in a dynamic work environment
Previous work experience in the health sector
Minimum Requirements
A degree in Procurement, Logistics or Administration or any relevant field of study.
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
