POSITION : Plant/Generator Mechanic
DESCRIPTION
- Identify problems and understand safe and efficient outputs levels for all the generators.
- Maintain all power generation equipment and tools in a safe manner.
- Ensure the Company’s regulations on Health and Safety are strictly adhered to.
- Responsible for the maintenance and operation of all types of power generation equipment, including but not limited to Catepillar, Perkins, Mikano etc generators of varying KVA output, up to 1000 KVA.
- Perform/provide routine inspection and service of all generators on site.
- Repairs and perform complete engine overhauls.
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, NABTEB, Trade Test or NTC with verifiable practical experience.
- Ability to work on Diesel engines.
- Smart and intelligent.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Honest, dedicated and a proactive team player.
- 5 years of maintaining diesel generators
Skills:
- Basic understanding of power generation, electrical safety and engine maintenance.
- Understand voltage, amperage, frequency and poser factors.
- Understand the basic principles of electricity
- Interpret and apply manufacturers repair manuals and technical specifications, schematics and engineering drawings and diagnostic codes.
- Understanding of variety of engines.
- Perform maintenance on coolant, oil and fuel systems.
