POSITION : Business Developer (Female) 

Responsibilities

Job Outline:

  • Develop new business relationships, services and products; and generate and negotiate new contracts and income for the company to an agreed annual target of invoiced revenue, to increase year on year.
  • Oversee the effective delivery of the business and commercial activities.
  • Play a strategic and operational role in developing the business and commercial activities, as a member of the Senior Management Team.
  • Market and sell all trading activities to an agreed annual target of invoiced revenue, to increase year on year.

Key Tasks:

  • Take responsibility for the commercial business plans and targets including income generation targets, leading the staff team to ensure these are achieved.
  • Oversee the effective and efficient delivery of the business and commercial activities including the monitoring of all income and expenditure
  • Work with the Board of Directors and Chief Executive to devise and implement various corporate plans, reports and forecasts for the short and longer term to enhance the external profile of the business and commercial activities and maximise income generation opportunities.

Operational Direction:

  • Present the company with potential clients through communication in face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and emails.
  • Actively and successfully manage the sales process: lead generation; credentials pitch; asking questions; solution pitch; negotiation; close.
  • Responsible for ensuring all sales opportunities are captured and explored.
  • Market and sell all trading activities to an agreed annual target of invoiced revenue, to increase year on year.
  • Introduce new products and services to the external environment and take responsibility for direct selling and meeting targets.
  • Maintain effective relationships with existing clients in order to retain business.
  • Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for the company to an agreed annual target of invoiced revenue, to increase year on year.
  • Represent the company at meetings, events and tradeshows with a view to gaining new business leads and contacts.
  • Create and be accountable for all client proposals, contracts and any further documentation, following the procedures.
  • Respond to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner.

General:

  • Comply with all legislative requirements, together with the policies and procedures of the organisation and to ensure this is applied by staff and volunteers.
  • The post holder will come into contact with vulnerable adults and will, therefore, be subject to a disclosure check at an enhanced level prior to confirmation of employment.
  • Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff and volunteers in their development and training.
  • Undertake such other duties and training as may be reasonably required and which are commensurate with the nature and grading of the post.
  • Contribute to the Vision and Mission and strive to exhibit the Values and Behaviours at all times.
