Street Child is a UK charity, established in 2008, that aims to create educational opportunity for some of the world's most vulnerable children. Street Child began its work in Sierra Leone in 2008 working with a small number of street children, eight years later we have helped to transform the lives of more than 50,000 children across Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nepal. In 2017, we launched our first project in Nigeria helping children impacted by conflict in the North East to access education.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Proposals and Partnerships Coordinator

Location: Maiduguri, Borno with frequent travel within Nigeria
Contract: Full Time, 24-month fixed term contract, with strong possibility for extension

Job Description

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Partnerships Coordinator to join our excellent programmes team in Nigeria to lead our relationships with local partners, improve coordination, strengthen organisational development and programme delivery across our growing flagship portfolio of education, child protection and livelihoods initiatives.
  • We are passionate about supporting our partners to access increased funding and this role will play a key role in enabling this, developing compelling proposals and supporting organisational growth.
  • This is a great opportunity to apply your skills within a high functioning team as well as further develop your experience in a vital humanitarian context. We are seeking an enthusiastic team player with a proven track record of working with partner organisations to build capacity - possessing strong communication skills, project management experience and in particular, excellent proposal writing abilities.  Previous experience working in international development, ideally in a humanitarian setting, will be an advantage.
  • You will be joining an agile and fast-growing global organisation, working for children's futures in 17 fragile, conflict and crisis affected countries.  We deliver as much of our work as possible through local partners whose development and growth we take as seriously as our own.

Key Duties
Partnerships Coordination (20%):

  • Lead and coordinate partnerships across Street Child’s programming portfolio
  • Manage the communication and agreement of partnership expectations
  • Participate in coordination platforms and humanitarian clusters to advocate for better approaches for locally led action
  • Generate and share evidence about Street Child’s ‘localisation’ approach at the national and global level
  • Partnership Development (50%)
  • Provide support to partners in developing and implementing organisational development plans
  • Identify new partner organisations and take the lead in conducting the appropriate due diligence
  • Provide ‘hands on’ support to local partners in developing proposals and resource mobilization opportunities.

Programme Management (30%):

  • Led on the development and delivery of Street Child’s ‘localisation’ projects, including follow up and reporting processes
  • Assist in developing and monitoring work plans and budgets, as well as associated deliverables and results/outputs
  • Prepare, coordinate reviews, edit, and disseminate project-related reports and documents
  • Support the Head of Programmes and Business Development Manager where needed in developing proposals aligned with the contextual needs and Street Child’s strategy

Salary
£25,000 - £30,000 per annum + benefits.
