We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Location: Abia State (Umuire, Near Umuahia)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Description

The sonographer onboards as part of our clinical team to support the provision of excellent diagnostics and clinical care to our patients towards optimum health status. The candidate is innovative, respects patients’ rights, and is in tune with the application of modern health technologies to solving health challenges

Responsibilities

Conducting sonographic procedures on patients
Ensure clear images for diagnostic purposes and make adjustments to the sonographic equipment when necessary
Support clinicians to conduct sonograhic invasive procedures where necessary
Recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide the best image quality for documentation
Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly
Maintain cleanliness and safety of the sonographic equipment
Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
Respect patients’ rights and maintain confidentiality
Make use of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other care-enhancing automation tools for patient care
Maintain teamwork and work in cooperation with other members of the clinical and administrative team, thereby contributing to proper care coordination
Support the planning and execution of preventive and community wellness programmes and outreaches of the hospital
Any other duties as may reasonably be required.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Radiography or other related Basic Medical Science
Post graduate certification in ultrasonography is added advantage
Ability to work with little or no supervision
Good verbal and written communication skills
Highly motivated team player willing to go the extra mile
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Adequate problem-solving skills
Ability to pay attention to details
Good organizational and time management skills
Ability to demonstrate empathy and good patient management skills
Computer literacy and basic knowledge of EMR.
